Dubrovnik & Peljesac wine tasting

Look into the old town Dubrovnik and explore the peninsula Pelješac famous for its wonderful wine yards and second largest city walls in the world, after the famous Chinese wall.

This tour offers a lot of diversity. It starts with a guided tour of the old town of Dubrovnik, and then it takes you in a countryside of peninsula Pelješac. With a walking guided tour you will hear why Dubrovnik was so special, rich and unique. You will learn how in the old days diplomacy and trading were of great importance.

After the guided tour in medieval Dubrovnik you will have an opportunity to see the rest of the territory of former Dubrovnik Republic. While driving from the city till the peninsula Pelješac you will see beautiful coastline, Elaphite islands and old settlements.

Pelješac peninsula is the second largest peninsula in Croatia well known as the wine empire. You will see a lot of shellfish farms because Dalmatian coast has a very long tradition in mariculture. Delicious oysters (The European Flat Oysters and Ostrea edulis) and mussels are the way of living there.

Ston and its walls do not offer only centuries-old history but salt works that have remained faithful to the natural way of salt production. In the middle Ages it was not just a way of payment but also cause for wars and establishing important trade routes. It is known as white gold from the sea, indispensable food for humans and animals.

Carefully chosen soil, position, 250 sunny days in a year and Mediterranean climate are primary conditions for top quality wine. That is why Pelješac vineyards are producing high quality wines, which makes this place favourite for wine lovers. We will drive to the vinery where the owner will explain the story about the production. You will also be able to try home made liquors and wine.
